Terms of service
Book File Rescue is a brand of Barnett Software, LLC. These terms apply to the services described here. Prices are in US dollars and are paid once through Stripe after fit and scope are confirmed.
EPUB repair — $59
For $59 USD, we repair one EPUB of up to 40,000 words and ten images, with a change report, in two business days after payment and receipt of the agreed file. We start with a free excerpt check before payment to confirm fit.
Your text is preserved exactly. We repair file structure and formatting that cause validation errors. We do not design covers, edit or write text, convert manuscripts into new books, or handle print layout. Print-layout repair is not offered yet.
The delivered EPUB passes EPUBCheck 5.4.0 and keeps your book’s text exactly. We refund the $59 if the repaired file fails EPUBCheck 5.4.0, or if your retailer (KDP or another) rejects the repaired file for a file-structure error we were asked to fix. Report the problem within 14 days of delivery with the exact EPUBCheck error or the retailer’s message and your order reference. Passing a check does not guarantee a retailer will publish the book.
Your responsibilities
Provide accurate information and only files and documents you have permission to share. Keep a backup of your originals. Do not send passwords, account access, payment-card details or unrelated sensitive information. You apply imports and make platform submissions yourself.
We decline requests involving credentials, account access, misrepresentation or work outside the offer. If we cannot deliver the agreed scope or customer content is lost or altered, we refund any payment. We do not sell ongoing account management.
Refunds
EPUB repair

We refund the $59 if the repaired file fails EPUBCheck 5.4.0, or if your retailer (KDP or another) rejects the repaired file for a file-structure error we were asked to fix. Report the problem within 14 days of delivery with the exact EPUBCheck error or the retailer’s message and your order reference. Passing a check does not guarantee a retailer will publish the book. The free excerpt check happens before payment.
We preserve your text exactly. If we cannot do so, or cannot deliver the agreed in-scope repair, we decline or refund. Retailer acceptance or publication is not guaranteed.
Report file-check failures or in-scope retailer file-structure rejections within 14 days of delivery; no paid retry is required. Contact hello@bookfilerescue.com with the order reference and relevant error. These terms do not limit rights that applicable law gives you.
Files and records
Customer files are deleted 14 days after acceptance. Order records and delivery logs are kept 180 days for disputes. See the privacy policy.
Independent service
Not affiliated with Google, Shopify, Amazon (including Kindle and KDP), Apple Books or Kobo. Platform names identify the systems involved. Third parties control their own rules and decisions; we make no promise about rankings, sales, reinstatement, acceptance or publication.
